Teltronic strengthens its commitment to interoperability in the Fourth edition of the FRMCS Plugtests

Zaragoza, July 15th 2024

ETSI, with the support of the European Commission (EC), the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), the Critical Communications Association (TCCA), and the International Union of Railways (UIC), organized the fourth edition of the FRMCS Plugtests in Sophia Antipolis, France.

The event continues to grow, demonstrating the increasing importance of the development of FRMCS, and had the participation of a total of 25 companies (6 more than in the previous meeting). Teltronic was present for the seventh consecutive time at these sessions organized by ETSI with the aim of adapting MCX products to the standard, as well as verifying the interoperability of the different solutions.

Teltronic was able to participate with its complete solution, that comprises CeCoCo Dispatcher, RTP-800 Cab Radio, 5G Infrastructure (5G Core + gNB) as required by FRMCS Standard and MCX Server.

During the sessions Teltronic was able to validate railway-oriented test cases, such as Ad-Hoc Group Calls, MCPTT private calls, Call Back Requests and First-To-Answer Calls, Explicit Group Affilliation/De-affiliation, Private call-back fulfilling and different operations with Functional Alias

In addition, Teltronic’s 5G Core and its standard N5 interface enabled integration with other vendors’ MCX servers with mission-critical performance and quality of service.

Teltronic has now participated in seven consecutive MCX Plugtests.

Teltronic’s MCX server was successfully tested with the client application of different vendors, including handheld terminals, cab radios, dispatchers and on-board applications.

As the standard is getting more mature, the focus of testing is shifting from basic testcases such as authentication or simple group calls, to more complex. Teltronic remains steadfast in its commitment to interoperability and the development of standard technology, and will continue to participate in these events, which are key to verifying the understanding of standards and promoting FRMCS and the ecosystem surrounding it.

OBSERVER PROGRAM

Teltronic participated at the Observer Program, an initiative that intends to examine the progress of deployment and the challenges of FRMCS thanks to the active participation of various stake holders in railways to discuss the progress of FRMCS. It also includes interoperability demos which allow us to show how our solutions meet the test cases.

The participation in these sessions was very satisfactory, being able to demonstrate integration with the solutions of other companies present in the tests, as well as the correct operation of the FRMCS functionalities tested.
