Teltronic has been selected as a finalist in two categories at the upcoming International Critical Communications Awards (ICCA) 2025, which recognize excellence and innovation in the critical communications sector. The awards ceremony will take place on June 17, 2025, in Brussels, as part of Critical Communications World, to be held in the Belgian capital.
The company’s project for CENAGAS will compete for the award in the category of Best use of critical communications in industrial, manufacturing, mining resources, oil & gas exploration. This project involved the deployment of a high-availability TETRA telecommunications system to ensure uninterrupted remote operation of natural gas transportation. It enables real-time and historical data, as well as operational variables, to be transferred to the CENAGAS SCADA system, with 24/7 industrial monitoring via a NOC/SOC.
This has been a significant challenge, as the system covers more than 9,500 kilometers of pipeline across 17 Mexican states.
In the category of Best Use of Critical Communications in Transport, Teltronic is also a finalist for its work on the Tren Maya, an emblematic railway project that will connect Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. Through two routes totaling 1,554 kilometers, the project aims to boost the region’s economy and development by providing a more efficient transportation system.
Teltronic has deployed a reliable and secure communication system to ensure constant train-to-ground communication while minimizing installation impact, as the area is rich in cultural and environmental heritage, including protected natural areas.
Teltronic is also competing in the transport category through its North American subsidiary, PowerTrunk, which is responsible for the New York City Transit (NYCT) project—a TETRA 700/800 MHz Bus Radio System that is revolutionizing public transportation communications in the United States.
NYCT, the largest transit system in North America, serves over 7 million daily riders and operates more than 6,000 buses across 300 square miles. To address operational challenges, PowerTrunk deployed a mission-critical TETRA radio system to provide seamless, reliable voice and data communications.
