Teltronic has accumulated a total of five nominations for the International Critical Communications Awards, the most prestigious awards in the field of critical communications globally, which will be presented at the next edition of Critical Communications World to be held from 14 to 16 May in Dubai.
The RTP-800, Teltronic’s innovative on-board equipment that integrates TETRA and 4G/5G technologies and even incorporates MCX functionality, will compete in the Best Hybrid Device category. The RTP-800 addresses all communication needs in transport environments: critical voice, critical data, data for railway signalling and broadband data for CCTV and other applications.
The MCBS is Teltronic’s nominee in the Best TETRA Product or Solution of the Year category. This base station uses SDR (Software Defined Radio) techniques to provide up to four carriers in a compact unit, a significant advance in the mission critical radio industry, matching the power of cabinet format base stations in a small and lightweight unit.
In the category of Best Use of Critical Communications in Public Safety, the private LTE and bodycams project for prisons in Ceara (Brazil) has been selected. Integrated with the TETRA system, it increases operational security by enabling the transmission of video, voice and data. The project has 448 body cameras in operation and facilitates real-time monitoring and rapid response to incidents.
In addition, the TETRA+4G/5G tactical unit has been selected in the category Emerging technology, product or solutions. This fast deployment solution provides a simple and agile communication system with narrowband and broadband capabilities to respond to events such as firefighting or search and rescue.
Finally, Teltronic’s CTO, Alfredo Calderón, is one of the finalists for the Phil Kidner Award for an Individual Outstanding Contribution to critical communications. Calderón has worked researching, developing and leading the creation of products for the market, and contributing from international organisations to define critical communications standards, always in permanent search of solutions for a safer, more functional and efficient world through technology.
